Introduction

CLAC currently represents more than 800 member organizations in the following 24 countries of the continent: Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Windward Islands (Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines), Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic and Uruguay.

Producer organizations are based in Product Networks, through which producers of a same product but from different countries of the region find and work with each other. These networks allow the exchange of experience between producers of a same product and the construction of strategies and common work plans at a continental level.

At the moment, CLAC has several established networks that have been working for many years, which are: the Coffee Network, the Honey Network, the Banana Network, the Cocoa Network and the Sugar Network. Likewise, other networks are progressing in their early stages of creation, like the Quinoa Network and the Fresh Fruits and Juices Network.

CLAC also has a Worker’s Network certified by the Fairtrade Standard for Hired Labor. This network is a space for convergence and dialogue in which the rural workers of the certified private plantations can participate more actively in the Fairtrade International system.
